Data sources
Where every field on Dolllist comes from, how fresh it is, and what each confidence label means.
Store listing export
Product data comes from structured listing exports of tracked stores — currently the DollYes export, whose provenance is documented in the store directory — captured in a dated snapshot with content hash. The current catalog version and its content hash are shown in the site footer and on every methodology note.
Field confidence levels
Verified — taken from backend/SKU data (prices, inventory). Derived — structured-extracted from the listing (height from titles/tags). Approximate — a range from listing tags (weight bands). Not verified — the field is absent and displayed as such, never guessed.
What we deliberately don’t have
No scraped competitor data, no user tracking profiles, and no data purchased from third parties. third-party research libraries never feed the public catalog.
Freshness cadence
The catalog re-syncs from the store export weekly (daily once automated sync lands). Product pages show their last-checked date; rankings and category pages carry the snapshot version they were built from.
